Entry-Level Electrical Engineer

Newgrange Design, located in Wakefield, MA, is currently seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. If you have great technical skills, enjoy working with people, are interested in a variety of technical challenges, and want the hands-on work of a small company, this is an exciting opportunity.

Job Description:

Newgrange Design is a small innovative business that focuses on customer service while designing the latest technology. Our employees are the key to our success and we are looking for another great player to add to our team. We are looking for an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our small Engineering Group which supports various customers across several industries. Projects range in size and scope from simple design reviews to months-long projects. The ideal candidate is someone who has interests in several areas of design and works well in cross-functional teams.

Tasks will include:

  • Board level design
  • Requirements assessment and design reviews
  • Design, simulation, and verification of mixed digital and analog circuitry
  • Key component selection
  • Design and perform critical experiments and/or engineering studies
  • Bring up prototypes, conduct functional tests
  • Assist Engineering management in overall program planning and estimating

We are looking for a team player, someone who is hardworking, friendly, energetic, and eager to be a part of a growing team. As a service bureau, we work for our customers, so strong personal skills and patience are critical to job success as well as organizational skills and flexibility.

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • BS or BA with an Electrical Engineering (or related) major
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and/or Permanent U.S. Resident
Desired Skills:
  • Hands-on experience in design and testing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Expertise in two or more of the following technical specialties:
    • Analog design (Small signal, Mixed-signal, High voltage, and/or Power)
    • Design of microprocessor-based systems
    • Complex digital hardware
    • Embedded firmware development & RTOS
    • Electro-mechanical design
    • Low power design
    • Sensor design and integration
